World's first review of the Apple iPad by Gossip Girl

the biggest disappointment for me regarding the Apple iPad is that you cannot run windows virtually on it. You might remember that a while back I ranked bootcamp as my favorite Apple product. Shame that they didn't include it when they made the iPad. The device, in terms of design, features and hardware, is mediocre enough, but not giving the users a choice of OS to run was Steve's biggest mistake. When I read that it was not windows-enabled in the press release that Apple sent out with the test units, I immediately lost all of the little bit of hope that I had for the device. So, I naturally refused to use and, therefore, review the device. This is a Gossip Girl FIRST. Not only that, it's a WORLD FIRST. So if you plan to buy an iPad in the not too distant future, buy at your own risk, cause you're on your own from here to your nearest Apple store.
I think I'm just going to give the iPad test unit that Apple gifted me to a friend or a hobo or something, cause I sure have no use for it, other than as a placemat or a paperweight, and even for that purpose it fails, due to its impractically desgined rounded ass and lightness. It's official. WORST. PAPERWEIGHT. EVER.

Gossip Girl presents: Anna Wintour

You may remember that a couple of a days I accidentally (come on, get real, I make no accidents) let slip the fact that I was meeting the fabulously plain Anna Wintour at Starbucks. Well, this just in: she's signed on to do an independent documentary with me. I only threw up the idea as a joke during the conversation, and she laughed her typical over-the-top laugh that she laughes. anyways, for what was meant as an icebreaker, she kept prodding at it throughout the course of the conversation, trying desperately to steer us back - from my input of freedom in cuba and the importance of public morality - to the film idea. her pathetic attempts at subtlety were so awkwardly awful, i had to put her ugly little chihuahua (which i found out later, was her son - must run in the family) out of the misery that was her unshuttable trap. so I reluctantly agreed, after downing my very long black til I couldn't think straight. though i warned her: "Anna, IMHO, you're fugly. your face can't even pass off as...art." i thought i saw that once-tough, but now wrinkly and saggy, shell of hers crack open and let out a tear. but then again, i remembered that once you're a senior cit you tend to forget how to control your bladder, so meh.
anyways, i analyzed my options afterwards and decided that the only way that i could make such a tragedy, was turn it into a comedy, a mockumentary, and also work under a cleverly disguised pseudonym. so the premise of the film is just her life, pretty much. i'll be (actually, i won't be, i'll just do some post-production voiceover recording), but i'll send my crew, my posse, my entourage, off to Anna and get them to follow her around 24/7, cause i'm sure sick of the damn attention i get from them. and then i'll get dickens or rouse to edit up some shit that the critics will snort up like coke, cause they're pretentious like that, and i'll send it to sundance - regular post, cause they aren't worth any real effort.
so, watch out for a groundbreaking documentary about Anna Wintour. i think it's rather confronting - ok, it's only the one toilet scene that's only slightly confronting - and i don't think anyone's ever attempted to do a doco on such a non-controversial subject. no one dares to touch her. omg, i'm so ashamed to be attached to such a fail of a film. never dealing with anna again. boycotted. for good.

iphone: the new mace

this just in: iphone saved my life. well, actually, it deleted another.
so I was walking through the Upper East Side when this suit came up to me and brought out this gun (later revealed to be a fake, but I didn't want to take any chances at the time). and was all like: "Yo bitch! i am not in a good mood. my porsche was repossessed so hand over your handbag...bitch" (exact words). I was not happy, cause this hold up would make Anna Wintour - who was waiting for me at Starbucks (where the paparazzi least suspects) and clearly did not know anything about being fashionably late, or just plain fashionable for that matter - a very unhappy woman. and that's when i remembered the exploding iphone story that was in the paper. So I pretended to give him my handbag and then I 'accidentally' dropped the whole thing and everything spewed out of it, onto the street. and there it was, the iphone that i had been planning to get rid of. I quickly grabbed it and smashed it into his head and he fainted. just to make sure he was really down, i quickly attempted unlocking it, and sure enough, it was heating up, and then it blew up. in his pants. and just to make sure he was dead, i grabbed his gun and tried to pull the trigger, but unfortunately it was a fake gun, so I just picked up my stuff and put everything back into my handbag, which i then threw into his pants, which were on fire, cause I couldn't bear to use anything that had touched the dirty ground of nyc. and it burnt and all these hobos gathered around the fire, cause they were cold. I'm kind of like a hero now.
So yeah, i survived a mugging today. and I got rid of a crappy excuse of a cell. killed two birds with one iphone, eh?

I have so much Dickens I'm so smart. Seriously, my friends all call me a nerd hag because of all the Dickens I have. My room is filled with his books i can't even move from one side to the other without knocking over ten piles of his books. and what's more, i live in a freaking mansion with massively high ceilings - they're all the rage - and book ladders - yep, i'm rich and i'll flaunt it. Most of them are old, like, first editions with a whole bunch of spelling errors and there's one really old and slowly deteriorating original manuscript, but he died before finishing it, so i don't know if its worth anything. anyways, you could call me the biggest dickens fan. Except I don't know why I have so much dickens. I only like great expectations, anyway, and plus, i only half like that. seriously, all the others are so lame. I guess i just like outbidding people on ebay, is all. that's where I got most of these, brill site if you haven't heard of it yet. gosh, these books take up so much space i think i'll burn them.

this just in: someone hates me. I'd just like to apologise to all of you for yesterday's incident, where my site went down. Thousands of you sent me emails, asking what happened to the site and wishing me well - you guys really got me through it, but whatever, it was only down for like, five mins or whatevs. Anyway, I can finally post you all the deets, now that my site is up again.
Ok, so here's the story:
Google called me personally yesterday to apologise about this whole fiasco, and they said that there was a Denial-Of-Service attack on my blog. They said my blog was targetted because of the sheer amount of traffic it was receiving - it's the number 1 page, in terms of links coming from Yahoo! Answers. Go figure. So these hacker dudes, like, totally got all these robot thingymajigs and like, overloaded my site. And they also did it to Twitter and Facebook - you may have heard about that - for good measure. So yeah - popularity can be a bitch. But you know, you gotta push through and all, kant let it get to you. NEwayz the important thing is that the site's back up, thank G.
So yeah, that's why you couldn't get on here. so, sorry to all my fans - especially those who like, attempted suicide and shit. better luck next time.

Gossip Girl's Fave Five for this week: Apple products (current line)

So, this is the first in a new weekly (if I can find time each week to fit this into my about-to-burst electronic organizer) series of my favourite five things in a given category. So this week's theme is Apple Products:

1. Boot Camp - When I'm sick of OS X (which is all the time - it's so pretentious and pointless and dumbed down) on my Apple Macbook, which I bought whilst on a drunk shopping spree (and which no one else will buy from me - yep, people avoid them like the plague), I use Boot Camp to run Vista, which allows me to run a heap of programs that I wouldn't be able to run natively through OS X.
2. Apple Xserve - Server - their only good computer system thingy.

3. AppleCare - This is a must for all Apple users. Seriously, I've used this so many times since I bought my Macbook (it breaks down heaps). I mean, yes Apples aren't great products, but at least their warranty services are alright. Try to extend your plan as long as possible, cause you'll never know...actually, you know you'll need it.

4. Apple Shuffle - Touchscreens are so last season. Small is best, especially to the point where it's non-existent, so you can almost frget the Apple experience.

5. Apple Keyboard - everyone loves those chiclet keys. I'm not a huge fan of the keyboard response, though. A little too loose for my liking.

Josh has been begging me to star ever since the pilot, but I'm just not into the whole célébrité thing; I'd rather watch and laugh. But after he offered me a hot night out (he's been desperate to get into my pants) as a bribe, I agreed to go on the show, on the one condition that he would leave me alone. An ALL NEW ORIGINAL SERIES hits ABC in '09

Anyone hear about Script Frenzy? Basically: 30 Days, 100 pages of script. I'm planning to do an autobiographical TV series, which will obviously be titled Gossip Girl. Here's a synopsis of what I've got so far:
The year is 2007. A girl returns to New York, specifically the Upper East Side, after unexpectedly leaving six months earlier. She has returned, but her friends have moved on with their own lives. Will she find her feet again? Or will she fall into the trap of that sleazy half-friend half-foe sleaze of a sleaze of a son of her mother's boyfriend?
I know it sounds like ,it might not work, or that it's smarter and wittier than anything you've ever seen, but that's the whole point. I wanted to do something that was fresh and original, but at the same time, something that hit close to home for me. What better than to write about my own life, eh? I've even received offers from ABC already, who says their "looking forward to see this script make the screen". So keep an eye out, fall of 09, for Gossip Girl.

'tis the TV season to be jolly. You heard right, it's fall again. Let the trees go nude and do their thing outside, while you enjoy some quality family time in front of the box. Well, I got a sneak peak at the shows that'll be gracing our screens this season and, let me tell you, there are a couple of new - and good - shows too. Oh and by the way, here's the obligatory 'SPOILER ALERT'. There you go.

Here are my picks:
Gossip Girl - what can a girl say about a show that she inspired and inspires millions others with? The new season is pretty interesting so far. The whole 'summer in the Hamptons' thing is okay, but they should really get back to school soon - Senior Year! Blair has a new guy - A lord, this one's a keeper. I hope the writers and cast take the show back to its roots - the brilliance of the first few episodes.
Dollhouse - written by Joss Whedon of Buffy fame and starring Eliza Dushku (Tru Calling, anyone?) and some random girl from Neighbours. It's a about a bunch of 'dolls' in a 'dollhouse'...A nice way of saying 'hookers in a brothel'. These 'dolls' are people who have donated their bodies for the house's use and they can be imprinted with any personality, they just don't have their own. People hire them to do jobs, which entail anything and everything. The pilot was not as strong as I hoped, but Joss has been writing a replacement, so fingers crossed.
True Blood - Based on Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire Mysteries, which, by the way, came before the overrated Twilight series of teenage fan-craze-dom. Adapted for the screen by Alan Ball, who wrote American Beauty and Six Feet Under. About vampires coexisting with humans in the south ever since synthetic blood. Tasty.
90210 - not as good as the original, but good enough. About a family moving to from Kansas to Beverly Hills and all the adjusting that comes with. My favourite character so far is Annie.

NO, Strike is NOT the name of the latest Verizon phone.

OK, so the Verizon strike is on again off again -it's been like this for days now - it's old news. The real news is the reason behind the strike. Verizon employees have been fed up with the terrible conditions they have to work on, right? The truth is, they're angry at the fact that THEY DIDN'T GET THE RIGHTS TO SELL THE iPHONE 3G.The result? Major strike. Verizon has got some negotiatin' to do, with both its employees and Apple. Come on Steve Jobs, play nice.

Another reason behind the strike is that word is Verizon is going broke. Their money's been going down the drain ever since the release of the iPhone 3G; I have good word that the company executives have been locked in long negotiations to shut Verizon's doors and end transmission. A little too convenient how they're able to just cash out their Swiss bank accounts at times like these. Sorry to all those Verizon customers and shareholders out there. I'd hate to be in your shoes right now...
That's why I trust T-Mobile! :)

This just in, a well known high-profile female celebrity (whom we cannot name due to the family's fear of the safety of the newborns) has just given birth to a pair of conjoined twins.

The couple, who oft make the covers of those tacky tabloids, are overwhelmed by the miraculous nature of the birth. The conjoining of twin children in a womb is a rare phenomenon that occurs just once in every 50000 births. That's a fact that the couple will surely be flaunting in the faces of fellow celebrity pals near and dear to them.

This marks the fifth and latest addition to their already merry family, but given their 'generous' past adoptions of 'orphaned' children, it certainly doesn't look like the couple will be slowing down anytime soon. Whether their next child is one of their own, or the next color of the rainbow, we'll be first to let you in on the story.

Although the delivery ward was filled with celebration at the time of birth, the couple have been informed of the low survival rate conjoined twins face, in comparison to unconjoined infants. The couple has commented that "it's just one of those things that you hear about in the news and you never imagine it to happen to you. But it does and you're like: "Holy Cow!"" and that "we will love them, no matter what they look like". The couple also plan to get a start with THE token charity. As we all know, celebrities often inspired to found after life-changing experiences, to "give something back to the people who have given so much". In the couple's case, the charity in question is one for children born conjoined. "We believe that children born into these circumstances [conjoined] have the right to live like normal [unconjoined] children from the moment they enter the world, so we've decided to donate millions of dollars, since money is no object to us, to begin this unique foundation in order to fight for this cause. We feel really strongly about this and our voices need to be heard," says the actress, on behalf of the couple at a recent press conference. She then displayed the pair of twins and asked the audience present, "Do these look like freaks to you?"

Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly has won the rights to publish the first official photographs of the couple together with the twins, at a record price of a cool 16 million. The tabloid magazine was the highest bidder in the long-running international race for the highly coveted photo op.

Google to acquire Microsoft?!?

First, Yahoo! bought Flickr.
Then, Microsoft bought Yahoo!.
Now, Google may make the biggest buy-out response in the history of the informational & technological world. Rumour has it, Google may have plans to buy out Microsoft buy (excuse the pun) the end of the next quarter. This will be the next, and by far the biggest, phase in Google's attempt of world domination. This buy-out would follow Bill Gates' retirement rather nicely for tech history (and conveniently, for Google's sake). Word on the web is that Google attempted to acquire Microsoft last year, for an undisclosed sum, but old Billy-boy refused. They sure are some smart cookies at Google - kicking the company while it's down.

Here's some background info on Google's recent spending spree...
2001, Google buys Pyra Labs, creators of Blogger
Early 2006, Upstartle, creator of Writely, is purchased by Google
Late 2006, Google acquires YouTube

The result of a buy-out would be positive for consumers. Google, in the past has made services acquired through the buying out of other companies - Blogger, Google Docs & Spreadsheets, Google Earth - free for its followers users. Could this mean the next Windows operating system will be free for all??

Word, although unconfirmed as yet, also says that Steve Jobs is mighty jealous and angry about the news. A buy-out like this would make him think twice about retiring, something that, we suspect, has been under Apple's works for months (probably in the same manner as a product release, given his egomaniacal persona), ever since his long-time rival Bill Gates announced his retirement. He is an attention seeker after all, so watch his face...

Although both parties, Microsoft and Google, have not confirmed the likelihood of the buy-out, it may happen as early as September. You heard it here first on Gossip Girl.

Steve Jobs ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT?!?

So, due to the huge amounts of visitors coming to my blog ever since my pre-release coverage of the iPhone 2.0, I've decided to remove my hit counter - it overloaded thrice. So you can ignore my 'I am Lisa Simpson' post of my excitement over the installation of a hit-counter (Those were the days, man). I did sound like a had a little to drink anyway, didn't I? Well, I am a recovering alcoholic after all, but that's a personal detail I'll touch on another time...

And onto other hot goss...
Bill Gates retired like...a few weeks ago. Good on him, old Billy-boy, bringing us the infamous blue screen of death for the second time in his career. His long time copy-cat rival at Apple, Steve Jobs, the one who creeps me out, may follow his lead and soon also retire. You heard it hear first on Gossip Girl. And no surprise if he announces his (long-awaited) death at an Apple Keynote speech on the first anniversary of his retirement. ;) Steve, I Love your computers, dislike your phones and definitely steer clear from you. Wow, I sound like one of his employees... But seriously, black skivvy with jeans?? Don't go there. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen him wear anything else...

iPhone 3G: World's First review by GossipGirl.

This just in, I got my hands on the iPhone 3G, before everyone else, along with CNET, Gizmodo and a few others. So let me take it apart for you...
(And a little sidenote: I'm not exactly impressed)

When I buy a cell phone, the first thing I look for is design that matches my stylishness (thank you very much).
Check. Although apple has long ditched the traditional iPod design with click-wheel, clean lines and all else, they've hit a new high with the touchscreen. Pretty. But I've seen better.
The back looks a bit el cheapo plastic-y. (THINK Ashlee Simpson post-nose job. Better, but she ain't no Jessica...)
Better than: LG Viewty - A big lens doesn't compensate for a small...
Worse than: HTC Diamond - A girl's intricately detailed BFF

Next of all, I want a high quality device that'll outlive my pet goldfish.
Check. The iPhone is quite sturdy with good build quality. It can survive the toughest of conditions - abandoned to fend for itself in my overcrowded warzone handbag. Unfortunately it's not waterproof, so I won't be taking it to the beach anytime soon.
Better than: Hiptop LX - Just twist. And SNAP! That's how you gotta do it hun'...
Worse than: Blackberry Curve - It's a Brickberry. Need I say more?

A phone is a form of communication.
Check-ish...A full QWERTY keyboard is always preferable, as I'm a serial texter, but the touchscreen manages to pull it off. The phone is a little awkward to hold while talking. Safari - not my favorite browser - is usable and I can access instant messenger and my email.
Better than: B&O Serene - Beautiful to admire, painful to use
Worse than: Most Blackberrys, Sidekicks - years = experience

Entertainment, cause even I get bored (amazingly).
Check. Accepts all your music and movies from iTunes, which is great if you already have an iPod - now you don't need two/three separate devices, it's all in one! Youtube is easily accessed - a definite plus. You've always got the net to keep you company. The camera is the suck though - only 2 MP and no video support, that's ridiculous!
Better than: Many.
Worse than: Not many.

Last of all, the biggest and most important (if not only) improvement is the speed. The first generation iPhone supported EDGE, which is heck slow (sorry 'bout the language), but now with 3G on the line, you can get speeds that rival your home broadband connection. Now that's a real quickie, without loss of pleasure. ;)

So, the iPhone might be an overall okay phone for the average user, but I'm still not convinced that it's worthy of my use. Apple has been trapped by the same case of performance anxiety that has plagued Danger - "Refresh, not replace." It's just not good enough for me (call me a perfectionist with great expectations). So I'm gonna ditch it and wait till something worth my time comes onto the market...maybe iPhone 3.0? I hope this answers all the questions you've been sending me about the iPhone 2.0. You can thank me later.

OMG. I saw the funniest thing on my friend's mobile yesterday. OMGROFLLOLMAO. I was goin thru his msgs and I finded the weirdoest n most funni thing I have ever readed. One of his msgs was from his 'rents and it sayed: "after rehearsal, we will f u". LOL??? How funni is dat? No suss at all. I showd it to every1 and totally embarrassd him. Its wat i do. We was all lyk, "wtf?" and then he was lyk "f u" stands for "follow up", wateva dat means and jus freaken ruin da joke. But seriously, it was the most hilaros thing i ever saw. His 'rents seriously need a lessen or 2 with granmar and english and stuf lyk dat. OMG LOL. I lyk, spent an our lahffin at dat. But seriously, I told him dat f he has any problemoes at home, he shud speak to a council worker. So toodays leson is dat: I tink he's family have serious familiar issues. wen i told him dat, he jus said "f u", witch i totali now no means "follow up".

so this is our third consecutive post in the last 10 minutes. searching up gosspgirl on google-images give you the regular hits but try alternatives like: gossipboy, gossipguy, gossipman, gossipchild.... very amusing stuff. the picture to the left was one of the hits i got when i typed in gossipman.

anyways getting to the point... there's been much speculation about the identitiy of gossipgirl but i can dispell all rumours because I KNOW WHO GOSSIPGIRL IS..... because I AM GOSSIPGIRL....
